„Agent Tomek” zdradza: Wąsik nakazał mi inspirować konserwatywnych dziennikarzy

Tomasz Kaczmarek, also known as „Agent Tomek,” is a former officer of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau, where he worked as a covert operative. He later entered the Sejm (Polish Parliament) on the PiS (Law and Justice) list. For over a year, he has been giving testimony in the Łódź prosecutor’s office, regarding irregularities in the CBA during the time when it was led by Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik. This includes falsifying documentation, misappropriation of public funds, and leaking confidential and secret information to journalists associated with the right-wing.

When asked by Dorota Wysocka-Schnepf why he decided to speak out against his former employers, Kaczmarek replied firmly: „In connection with the birth of my children, I felt the need to close this shameful chapter in the CBA and to ensure that those who harmed innocent people are held accountable.” He explained that he made the decision to speak the truth in 2014, but only started giving testimony to investigators in 2023.

„Agent Tomek” emphasized that he now looks more critically at what he did during his time at the CBA. He believes that institutions like special services should serve to combat organized crime and corruption. However, under the leadership of Kamiński, Wąsik, and Bejda, the CBA was effectively used as a tool of Law and Justice. The agency was practically only used for political purposes during that time.

Former CBA agent apologized to all those who may have been harmed by his actions. He repeatedly explained that the materials gathered by the CBA were used to „lynch political opponents of Law and Justice.”

At one point, Kaczmarek handed over a several-page document to Dorota Wysocka-Schnepf. He said, „I brought with me an operational analysis from the wiretaps of Jan Bury, which I received from Maciej Wąsik. Bury was targeted by Kamiński and Wąsik for political reasons. Wąsik instructed me to provide it to right-wing journalists to smear Bury in the media. I should not have had it in my possession.”

Kaczmarek admitted that he does not have the document in question yet, but it contains secret operational data and excerpts from Bury’s wiretaps. He was not sure if the handwritten notes were made by Maciej Wąsik or a CBA officer associated with him.

Kaczmarek and the TVP Info journalist pointed out the notes on the document. One of them read, „this is not in PiS media,” and another said, „consider future coalition.” He added that he handed over the document to show how Kamiński and Bejda operated in a criminal manner. He specified that he gave this document to a journalist from „Gazeta Polska.”

Weronika Marczuk, who was arrested by CBA officers in 2009 on corruption charges related to the privatization of a scientific-technical publishing house, was also a guest on the show. Marczuk regained her freedom after posting a 600,000 zł guarantee. The investigation against her was closed in 2011 due to insufficient evidence of wrongdoing.

In Marczuk’s opinion, institutions like the CBA are created not to act correctly. She emphasized that the pain of her experience has not subsided over the years. She expressed that no one has officially apologized to her for what she endured due to the actions of the CBA. When asked what she would say to Tomasz Kaczmark, she said, „He caused a great tragedy in the lives of many people with his actions. He took on that role. It’s good that he finally decided to save his soul.”
