Bolek and Lolek were introduced to viewers in 1963 in an episode of the animation titled „The Crossbow”. The creator of these characters was Władysław Nehrebecki. The fairy tale was well received by viewers, which resulted in a 23-year adventure of Bolek and Lolek in television and cinema. During this time, over 150 episodes of the series were created at the Animated Film Studio in Bielsko-Biała, as well as two feature films, and two more created from a combination of episodes from one of the series. The last episode of „Bolek and Lolek” was created in 1986.

Bolek and Lolek – a comeback after almost 40 years Now, almost 40 years later, a new full-length animation dedicated to the adventures of Bolek and Lolek has been announced.
