Putin próbuje przejąć przyszłość Ukrainy, ostrzega Sikorski.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski has addressed the recent statement of the Russian ambassador to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, who referred to Ukraine as a „project.” Sikorski emphasized that Ukraine is not a project, but a country with a longer history than Russia. He pointed out that Ukraine has been a member of the UN for a longer period of time than Russia and has its own language, identity, and aspirations, which have been repeatedly undermined by the Russian Federation.

The UN General Assembly adopted a Ukrainian resolution on Monday condemning Russian aggression. The Assembly also initially adopted a neutral American resolution with amendments proposed by Poland, among others, referring to the war as Russian aggression.

Sikorski stressed that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court for crimes committed by his army in Ukraine, not only wants to „destroy this country, but also steal its future.” He warned against attempts to achieve peace „at any cost,” especially as a representative of a country bordering Ukraine, and cautioned against „normalizing relations with Russia.” He stated that this would not restore world order and that by normalizing relations with Moscow, countries would be trusting their security and economic stability to an autocrat and war criminal in a much more unstable international environment than a decade ago.

„Some countries have changed their stance on the war because they believe that returning to 'business as usual’ with Russia is in their interest, but they are mistaken,” Sikorski argued.

Radosław Sikorski arrived in the USA last Friday for a visit. He participated in the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington and met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
