Putin zrywa rozejm i rozpoczyna ataki na Ukrainę. Wojska rosyjskie powracają do walki.

Putin announced the end of the ceasefire and the resumption of hostilities just a few hours after the Russian Defense Ministry declared the ceasefire over. However, Putin maintained that Moscow is open to peaceful initiatives. The Easter ceasefire was supposed to last until midnight (11pm in Poland) from Sunday to Monday. Both Moscow and Kyiv accused each other of multiple violations of the ceasefire. The Russian Ministry of Defense accused the Ukrainian side of nearly 5,000 ceasefire violations. On the other hand, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Sunday that the Russian army breached the ceasefire over 2,000 times since its inception.

The Ukrainian leader proposed to Russia a cessation of attacks using drones and long-range missiles on civilian infrastructure for at least 30 days, with the possibility of extending this period. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 96 drones and three missiles overnight from Sunday to Monday. The Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense system managed to shoot down 42 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types.

Moreover, President Zelensky emphasized the need for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the conflict in eastern Ukraine. He called for international support to ensure the safety and security of Ukrainian civilians who are bearing the brunt of the ongoing hostilities. Zelensky reiterated Ukraine’s commitment to upholding the ceasefire agreements and urged Russia to reciprocate in good faith.

The situation in eastern Ukraine remains highly volatile and unpredictable, with both sides exchanging accusations and engaging in sporadic clashes. The international community continues to monitor the developments closely and calls for a peaceful resolution to the conflict through diplomatic means. The fate of the ceasefire now hangs in the balance as both Moscow and Kyiv weigh their next steps in the ongoing conflict.
