Rosyjskie władze zatrzymały czwórkę młodych osób w związku z podejrzeniem o działalność terrorystyczną.

Federal Security Service claims that it has seized components that were intended to be used to construct an explosive device. The detainees, whose names were not disclosed, are minors: born in 2007 and 2008. According to the FSB, the detainees „shared the views of a banned terrorist organization in Russia” and planned to detonate the explosive device in a crowded area of Yekaterinburg.

During the search of the teenagers, allegedly „communication equipment containing instructions for its production” was also seized. The FSB also stated that two teenagers were involved in setting a police car on fire, which according to Russian media reports, took place on December 22, 2024.

The opposition portal Meduza reported that authorities released video recordings with the detainees. One of the teenagers said that in August 2023, he „became a supporter of right-wing views, subscribed to neo-Nazi channels on Telegram, and then learned from these sources that action should be taken against the police.” However, the circumstances in which the recordings were made are unknown – emphasized the portal.

Additionally, it is important to note the concerning trend of radicalization among young people and the influence of extremist ideologies on their actions. It is alarming that individuals as young as these teenagers were involved in such dangerous activities and had access to materials for constructing explosives.
