Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson will still remain as co-owners of the iconic James Bond franchise, but they will no longer be responsible for the development of future Bond films. That control will now be in the hands of Amazon. Three years ago, the company acquired MGM for $8.5 billion, gaining access to a catalog of over 4,000 films and 17,000 TV shows, as well as the distribution rights to all James Bond productions.

Broccoli and Harry Saltzman for introducing Bond to audiences worldwide, as well as Michael G. We trust Amazon MGM studio to continue the legacy. I have dedicated my life to continue the amazing legacy that our father entrusted to me and Michael. With the completion of 'No Time to Die,’ we are retiring,” Wilson stated. „I have dedicated my life to continuing the incredible legacy that was passed down to me and Michael by our father. With the conclusion of 'No Time to Die,’ we are stepping down into retirement,” added Broccoli, as quoted by Variety.
The 25th film in the James Bond series, „No Time to Die,” premiered in 2021 and grossed $775 million worldwide in theaters. It was the final film in which Daniel Craig portrayed Bond. Speculation has been rampant about who will take on the iconic role next. The casting for the next James Bond has not been officially announced, and production for the next installment of Bond’s adventures has yet to start.
