Wyrok zapadł po 20 latach dla niebezpiecznego bossa z Pruszkowa.

Janusz P., also known as Parasol, a notorious member of the so-called management of the Pruszkow mafia, was accused of crimes dating back to 1995-2003. The most serious one involved inciting members of the „Bryndziaki” group (considered the most ruthless gang of this suburban criminal corporation) to murder Dariusz P., also known as Bolo from Grodzisk. The latter was associated with „Pruszkow” in the 90s and had a large gang under his command. After the assassination of „Pershing” in 1999 and the police crackdown on the underworld in the suburbs, he joined the Ożarów group, with whom he was doing business even before. The assassination attempt on „Bolo from Grodzisk” never took place. According to reports from Pruszkownews.pl, the gangster passed away in April 2023.

Parasol was also accused of organizing a robbery on the Max Trade company in 1996 in Warsaw’s Bemowo district, where 200,000 zł was stolen. Zygmunt R., also known as Bolo (another member of the Pruszkow mafia management), was also tried for the same crimes over the years, but he lived to see the end of the trial. According to Pruszkownews.pl, he passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2021.

From the beginning, Janusz P. claimed to be innocent. According to reports from years ago by the Polish Press Agency (PAP), he argued that the entire indictment was based on lies by a criminal and thief named Jacek R., also known as Sankul, who was a key witness in the case. „His motivation was to avoid prison time and instead buy himself out in the prosecutor’s office, incriminating the so-called bosses of Pruszkow,” Parasol said. In his opinion, he, „Bolo,” and „Słowik” (acquitted in the main thread) were „accused only to ensure media coverage” for the trial.

Stołeczny court had no doubts about Parasol’s guilt and sentenced him to a total of 10 years in prison. The verdict is not final. The boss will await appeal while out on bail. „It’s hard to say if I feel satisfaction with the verdict. The indictment in this case, involving around 50 people, was submitted to the court in 2005. Over 20 years, various things happened in the case. Parasol and Bolo were acquitted, and eventually their case was separated into a separate proceeding, and this time the one among the accused who is still alive was sentenced,” said prosecutor Waldemar Tyl, one of the authors of the indictment in the case dubbed by the media as „little Pruszkow.”

Investigators emphasized that now they have to wait for the appeal, which, given the serious backlog of cases in the Warsaw Court of Appeal, may take around 2-3 years. This likely means that the charges related to the Bemowo robbery could potentially be time-barred. This could result in a potential reduction of the sentence for Janusz P. if the second-instance court also finds the boss guilty. It is also worth considering that the 69-year-old Parasol’s health has deteriorated significantly in recent years. In 2020, he described his health as poor, citing problems with his spine, the beginnings of a serious neurological disease, and hypertension. In 2022, when he was arrested again, his health had worsened. Mazovian investigators brought in experts who concluded that the boss could be incarcerated and receive treatment in prison. The gangster is indeed in poor health, with difficulty speaking and moving.

Janusz P. served a seven-year sentence in the early 2000s for leading the Pruszkow gang. Within the most dangerous Polish gang, he was responsible for resolving armed conflicts with rival groups. „It was his idea to shoot Dziad’s house with a missile launcher. He said that if they managed to destroy everyone, it would be very good. And he wanted to use a launcher because he complained that hunting Dziad in a ditch near his house was giving him rheumatism,” recounted Jarosław S., a key crown witness against the Pruszkow mafia.

Janusz P., as a seasoned recidivist, is highly respected in the underworld. He began his criminal career with the founder of the Pruszkow gang, Ireneusz P., also known as Barabasz. Together with old „gitowcy,” they carried out burglaries in Pruszkow in the late 70s and early 80s. In some cases, they already used firearms.

The first time Janusz P. and his comrades made headlines was on July 4, 1990, due to a police operation at the George Motel in Ruśiec near Warsaw. Officers set up an ambush for the bandits who wanted to extort $15,000 ransom for a Mercedes. During the operation, Andrzej C., known as Szarak, was killed, and Parasol was reportedly injured.

This is just a brief overview of Janusz P.’s criminal activities and legal troubles over the years, as he navigated the dangerous world of the Pruszkow mafia. His involvement in various crimes, conflicts with rival gangs, and interactions with law enforcement paint a picture of a notorious figure in the Polish criminal underworld. His ongoing legal battles and health issues have continued to keep him in the public eye, as he awaits the outcome of his latest trial and potential appeals.
