Zmiana nazw ulic w Warszawie: Nowy plac dla zapewnienia zabawy

Warsaw Human Rights Week will last until December 10th. During this time, the organizers have prepared a series of events and attractions.

„In this time, the city invites you to workshops, discussions, film screenings, and meetings with activists and experts. All of this in cooperation with non-governmental organizations, municipal units, and cultural institutions” – we read on the TVP3 Warsaw website.

Why are street names changing?

This year, the organizers have decided to focus on issues related to children’s rights. Hence, for this week, the names of several streets will symbolically change to those related to children’s rights, for example, Szczęśliwicka Street will become Childhood Happiness Street, and the Five Corners Square will become the Right to Play Square.

On December 4th, a webinar is planned: „Your rights, your voice: about difficulties in social activism”. The conversation will involve Damian Jaworek – Warsaw Ombudsman for Student Rights, Karolina Pawlak from the Civis Polonus Foundation, as well as Kacper Chyła and Mikołaj Wolanin from the City of Warsaw.

Detailed information about the program can be found HERE.

Throughout the week, various activities and discussions will take place, aimed at raising awareness of human rights issues and promoting children’s rights. There will be exhibitions, performances, and other cultural events to engage the public in important conversations about justice and equality.

The organizers have worked closely with NGOs, government agencies, and cultural institutions to make this week a success. By changing street names and hosting events that highlight children’s rights, they hope to spark meaningful conversations and inspire positive change in the community.

Overall, Warsaw Human Rights Week promises to be a thought-provoking and engaging experience for all participants. It is a unique opportunity to come together, learn, and advocate for a more just and equitable society. Let’s all join hands in celebrating human rights and empowering the next generation to stand up for what is right.
